Women in World Jazz is proud to present webinar style virtual concerts.
Concerts are offered via zoom and include live presentations and pre-recorded performances/virtual collaborations.
Members of the ensemble share information about the music and the featured composers, as well as engage the audience with a Q&A and discussion at the end of the program.
We offer the following virtual concerts:
For schools: A tribute to women composers from around the world
This all-ages school program features music composed by women artists past and present. From USA Blues and Jazz styles, the group ventures to Chile, Brazil, Japan, Cape Verde and the Middle East to celebrate the diversity and power of creativity.
For adults: Music as an expression of women’s dissent
Jazz and Blues, originated from the African American tradition, were a propelling force in the U.S. during the 1920s, providing females of all ages with an outlet for rebellion in a time when they were also fighting to win the right to vote. Join us as we celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the passage of the 19th amendment with a concert featuring Women in World Jazz along with the all-girl Women in World Jazz Junior Performers to pay tribute to that hard-won battle.
